Exposure 1
exposure: Exposure is a collection of photographs using time exposures longer than the standard 1/60 of a second needed to prevent blurred images. Currently I’m studying the effects of deliberate camera movement after the camera’s shutter button has been pressed. I’m curious to see how this series evolves. Working this way allows me to reintroduce the element of uncertainty into my work that vanished when I began practicing digital photography.

dummy: Dummy is an ongoing photographic study of mannequins, dolls, toys and other human simulacra. I began photographing mannequins in 1998 in downtown Minneapolis. I was inspired by the seemingly endless variation of ourselves that we create for play, display and work. It is a project I intend to sustain indefinitely
